Become an Employment Specialist
Employment specialists work with youth ages 14-21 and educate them on job and career readiness.
Employment specialists encourage youth to seek employment and learn more about careers through the work-based learning experience program.
Employment specialists help students find and coach them on how to maintain employment.
Employment specialists help students learn about self-advocacy within the workforce.
What Qualifications are needed for this role?
Experience working with individuals with disabilities and/or prior counseling, job placement, job coaching or working within public vocational rehabilitation programs is preferred.
Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in related fields of education, coaching, psychology, business, and economics.
Or associates in related fields with at least two years of experience
Or four years of work related experience in vocational rehabilitation services.
